Purchasing an Aircraft
Once you decide to purchase a corporate aircraft, there are several steps to ensure you get the best value for your dollar.
A well organized plan goes a long way toward keeping the acquisition moving smoothly. You will need a professional and we will
guide you through the process, watching for pitfalls found in this highly complex industry.
The first step should be what aircraft to purchase. We will meet with you to discuss how you plan to use your aircraft; how many
hours you will fly each year; how many people you will typically travel with; and so on. What will be your primary destinations?
How many times per year will you go there? Do you plan to offer the aircraft for charter?
We will analyze what aircraft will meet your needs and which ones offer the best value. What is your budget? Should you consider
a new, nearly new or used aircraft? Are any of the major inspections or overhauls going to be due during ownership?
Once an aircraft has been selected, we will select a maintenance facility to perform a pre-buy inspection after a thorough pre-buy
flight check of all the systems. The pre-buy flight check and maintenance inspection may find items requiring repair/replacement
that will be the seller's expense.
We will obtain insurance quotes for the hull and liability that meet your requirements and acquire competitive bids on the financing.
Once the pre-buy inspection is complete, will the aircraft require paint or interior refurbishment? We can facilitate getting the
competing bids. If it goes into refurbishment, we will inspect the aircraft at critical steps to ensure that it will meet our high
expectations for quality work.
Where should you close the deal? That could be critical due to state tax laws. We can obtain the best solution to saving taxes for
you.
Early in the process you should determine who will manage and crew the aircraft, your pilots or Air Business Services, so that the
crew can be selected and trained in time for delivery of the aircraft and the start of operations.
After the process of aircraft acquisition is completed, you can now enjoy your aircraft and its many benefits!
